Before you Apply
- This pathway is intended for holders of a current or expired foreign aircraft maintenance licence from an authority approved within Sigma Aerospace College’s MTO exposition.
- Sigma first maps the foreign licence and examination history against CASA Part 66 to identify only the required CASA module gaps or full module examinations.
- The number of required module exams and any essay requirements depends on the issuing authority, the licence category sought, and the date of the original foreign examinations.
- CASA practical experience and recency requirements still apply and must be evidenced separately.
- Straight recognition and optional VET diploma pathways may both be available, depending on the candidate outcome sought.

Licence Conversion – Student Acknowledgement and Delivery Conditions
I acknowledge and understand that foreign licence conversion is an individually mapped pathway and that CASA licence issue is not automatic.
I understand and agree that:
- Sigma identifies the required CASA gap or full module examinations based on my foreign licence, exam history and evidence;
- the final scope of training and assessment may change once my documents are reviewed in detail;
- practical experience currency and recency requirements under the Part 66 MOS must still be met and evidenced;
- Sigma may prepare and submit Form 465 and supporting RPL reports, but I remain responsible for submitting CASA Form 544 and any other applicant documents required by CASA; and
- assessment outcomes and final licence issue remain subject to CASA requirements and decisions.
- Foreign licence conversion applicants must conduct their own due diligence regarding CASA requirements. Before committing to a pathway, applicants must review: AC147-02 & CASR 1998. Sigma will not accept responsibility for applicants claiming they were unaware that the organisation does not hold approval for conversion from a particular NAA/state - please confirm in the latest 147 Circular linked above.
Academic integrity applies to all examinations, evidence and declarations. Misconduct may result in cancellation of enrolment and reporting to relevant authorities.
