CASA Part 147 approved differences training between aircraft/engine variants to address the differences in systems, maintenance practices and limitations relevant to the additional rating outcome. The scope and duration are based on a training needs analysis and are intended to support issue of a further Part 66 aircraft type rating (or variant), as applicable. When all applicable aircraft type rating requirements have been met, the applicant applies to CASA using Form 541. Sigma separately notifies CASA of successful training outcomes using Form 465.

Delivered via
Face-to-Face Online Course via Teams for Theory Only
Instructor-led aircraft type training (theoretical element only) delivered live online (Microsoft Teams). This delivery mode is used for engineers who require the theory component for a specific aircraft type rating, and who will complete the practical component separately (e.g., POC/PCT/OJT where applicable).
tuition Fees
Tuition fees are paid as $500 on application to secure a place, with the balance due 1 week prior to commencement (unless otherwise stated on the invoice).
Fees cover the theory component only. Any costs associated with practical training/OJT, CASA applications, travel, accommodation, or re-sits are not included unless explicitly stated in writing. Fees may change; the invoice and Student Agreement are the source of truth for your enrolment.

Before you Apply
- This pathway is intended for CASA Part 66 licence holders seeking aircraft type training for the applicable licence category.
- This delivery mode covers theoretical training only. You must still meet CASA requirements for practical type training and, where applicable, on-the-job training (OJT) prior to applying for a type rating endorsement.
- Live participation is required. Ensure you can attend the scheduled sessions and have a stable internet connection, webcam, microphone and suitable study environment.
How We Train
"# How We Undertake Training (Online Type Course)
The theoretical instruction is intended to provide the students with sufficient knowledge of the aircraft type necessary to perform and certify maintenance tasks permitted to be carried out as certifying staff for appliucable Part 66 licence category. It provides detailed description, operation, component location, removal/installation, bite and troubleshooting procedures to a maintenance manual level. The student will have an understanding of the specific human factor issues that may be associated with this particular aircraft type.
The course will follow the outline below for lesson order and refer to the Syllabus for duration.
Each lesson will follow the guide below:
- General overview of the ATA
- In-depth presentation of the sub systems of the relevant material IAW student booklets
- Safety aspects
- Use photos as required for clarification of locations, set-up
- Questions from students are to be answered prior to moving on to the next

Assessment is by way of Written Multiple Choice Assessment.
Entry Requirements
Licence
- Must be a holder of a valid Part 66 AME license in the applicable Category
- Valid ASIC
Computing
- Desktop or Laptop computer with webcam and speaker, and modern web browser, PDF viewer, and standards-compatible office suite software
- Reliable broadband internet connection
- An active email address
- Intermediate computing skills, including knowledge of how to use internet to access information.
